Nestling in Upper Wharfedale, some 12 miles North of Skipton, Conistone Hostel – originally a Methodist Chapel built in 1885 – provides the perfect place for families, friends and groups to meet up and share time together. With the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park quite literally on your doorstep, our modestly priced hostel provides an ideal location for a small conference, group meeting, family gathering or just a restful retreat to escape the pressures of the modern world. Needless to say, whatever the reason to meet, the hostel provides endless opportunity to explore and experience the natural beauty of its rural setting.

The hostel is located at the heart of the village and provides self-catering accommodation for up to 24 guests – four separate dormitories of differing sizes to meet the needs of different groups. In addition to accommodation, the hostel provides a kitchen, dining/ communal area, large lounge and toilet/ washroom/ showering facilities to ensure you make the most of your time away with others in the Yorkshire Dales.

With Grassington and Kettlewell only three miles away, there is ample opportunity to replenish your catering supplies, refuel your vehicle, purchase a morning paper or just pick-up an ice-cream or two to complement a lazy day in the sun. If you wish to venture further, the market town of Skipton is only twenty minutes away by car. Alternatively, a scenic outing over Kidstones Pass will take you into Wensleydale and open up more possibilities with visits to the market towns of Leyburn and Aysgarth. Not forgetting, of course, the opportunity to visit and sample the delights of the Wensleydale Creamery and the market at Hawes

For those in search of activities in addition to an abundance of walking and mountain biking routes, pony trekking, fishing and spa facilities are all available at Kilnsey Trout FarmKilnsey Trekking Centre and Long Ashes Pure Spa respectively. If you are in need of further inspiration, please take a look at the National Parks Visitors Centre at Grassington for further ideas of things to see and do during your stay in Upper Wharfedale.

For those who wish to know more, our information leaflet is probably the best place for you to start.
